Lazy Aim: Letting They Do The Work

Why trying to flick to heads is exhausting, and how to just let enemies walk into your bullets.

If you watch pro players, it looks like they are snapping their crosshairs to heads at lightning speed. When I tried doing that on a mobile screen, I just ended up swiping all over the place and missing everything. It was incredibly stressful.

The “cozy” secret to good aim isn’t flicking—it’s lazy crosshair placement.

You just put your crosshair exactly where their head is going to be, and wait for them to walk into it. It feels like you’re not even trying.

Here’s an example of what I call “lazy aim” in action:

(Note: Close any popup tabs from the player to watch the gameplay.)

How to practice Lazy Aim:

  1. Head Height Always: Walk around the map and find lines on the walls that match head height. Keep your crosshair there.
  2. Leave a gap: Don’t hug the wall with your crosshair. Leave a little space so when they run out, they run right into your dot by the time you react.
  3. Just click: No swiping, no panicking. Just tap the fire button when they appear.

It turns every chaotic gunfight into a simple point-and-click adventure. Extremely chill.
